A litmus test for wifi

Multi-media Installation
Seerveld Gallery, Palos Heights, IL 2023

What follows a leaky ceiling fan? What happens when neon pink squares emerge from the surface of your dining table? And what does it mean when you can’t flush your toilet?

Smooth, transparent systems are thrown into relief against a surface that you thought was grey, but is actually shaggy beige carpet.

This multi-media installation explores and re-imagines the inner workings and connections formed through everyday systems such as plumbing, electricity and wifi, as they are presented in authentically artificial states. Formed from a child-like fascination of how these systems work in detail, the work forms irregular connections and transformations that offer speculative explanations to questions such as: Why does the Wifi go out every time it rains?
